Team up with your suppliers
In order to reduce your plastic waste (especially your packaging waste) significantly it is important to team up with your suppliers. Working together on plastic waste reduction has benefits both for you and your suppliers.

WORKING TOGETHER
Encourage your suppliers to join your plastic waste reduction programme. Inform them about your measures and ask for their support.
REUSABLE PRODUCTS

RECYCLABLE MATERIALS
Discuss the prioritization of products that are recyclable and / or have recycled content. Which products are available?
BULK OPTION
Avoid buying smaller products but prefer in bulks. It will not only reduce the amount of plastic waste but usually save money as well.
AVOIDANCE OF PLASTIC PACKAGING
Discuss ideas how to avoid as much (plastic) packaging waste as possible for deliveries. Maybe unnecessary packaging such as cups wrapped in plastic, packaged in plastic bags and then in cardboard can be eliminated?
ESTABLISHMENT OF RETURN SYSTEM
Prefer the uuse of reusable and / or returnable packaging such as boxes for delivery: Set up a return scheme together and team up with neighbouring hotels that use the same suppliers.
RECYCLABLE PACKAGING
If reusable or returnable boxes are not possible, ensure that the packaging is recyclable.
